Legal Jargon
Terms of Service
Last updated July 23, 2026 · applies to the Closed Beta (real accounts). The Demo track runs on seeded fake data and isn't a real agreement between you and anyone.
Spartacus.cv ("we," "us," "the platform") is a prototype run by a small team, currently in closed beta. These terms are written to actually match how the beta works today, not aspirational language — but this is still an early-stage product, not a polished legal document, and it will change as the platform does. We'll post updates here when it does.
By checking "I accept the Terms of Service" at sign-up, or by using the closed beta, you agree to the terms below.
1. What this is
Spartacus.cv is a merit-based talent platform. Members publish projects instead of resumes, and the community backs work they rate highly using Drachmas (Δ), a closed-loop in-platform token described in Section 4. Rank, visibility, and reputation are earned through what members ship and how the community votes on it.
2. Eligibility & accounts
- You must be at least 16 years old and able to form a binding agreement to sign up.
- Sign-up during the beta requires a valid, unused invite or referral code. We may change, limit, or revoke invite codes at any time.
- One account per person. Your name, username, and email must be accurate — impersonating someone else or creating accounts to evade a ban is a violation.
- You're responsible for keeping your password confidential and for activity that happens under your account.
- There is currently no self-serve password reset. If you're locked out, you contact the development team directly to regain access.
3. Content you post
- You own what you post — projects, posts, comments, updates, profile content, uploaded media. Publishing it here grants us a non-exclusive license to host, display, and distribute it on the platform, and nothing more. We don't sell it, and we don't claim ownership of it.
- Post only work you actually made, or that you have the rights to post. Misrepresenting authorship — claiming someone else's work, or posting AI-generated or plagiarized work as your own original build — is the one unforgivable sin on a merit platform and grounds for removal.
- Don't post content that's illegal, infringes someone else's intellectual property, is harassing or hateful, or exposes someone else's private information without their consent.
- We can remove content that violates these terms. You can delete your own projects and posts at any time; deletion is immediate but does not refund Drachmas already spent (see Section 4).
4. The Drachma economy (Δ)
- Drachmas are a closed-loop utility token that exists only inside Spartacus.cv. They have no cash value, cannot be purchased, sold, gifted for value, transferred outside the platform, or redeemed for anything outside it. They exist to make attention and votes scarce and honest — not to function as money, a security, or a virtual currency with real-world value.
- You earn Drachmas through the platform's daily grant, invite/ referral bonuses, and other mechanics we control and may change.
- You spend Drachmas on actions like publishing a project, backing (voting on) a project or post, commenting, contacting another builder, or revealing another member's email address. Current costs are shown in the product wherever the action appears.
- Balances are subject to a periodic platform-wide reset (currently every 60 days) as an anti-hoarding measure. We'll always show the current rules in the product rather than only here.
- Trying to manipulate the economy — vote rings, sockpuppet accounts, paying or trading real money or goods for votes/Drachmas, exploiting bugs for token gain — is a violation and grounds for account action, including reversing the gains.
5. Conduct
You agree not to:
- Harass, threaten, or abuse other members.
- Spam the feed, comments, or direct messages.
- Scrape, crawl, or access the platform through automated means outside what we publish (e.g. RSS), or attempt to bypass rate limits or auth.
- Probe, disrupt, or attempt unauthorized access to the platform's systems, other accounts, or data.
- Use the platform for anything illegal, or to distribute malware.
6. Moderation & enforcement
Admins can remove content, mint or revoke invite codes, adjust or reset balances, and suspend or delete accounts that violate these terms. Every admin action is recorded in an internal audit log. We try to act proportionately, but during the beta this is a judgment call by a small team, not a formal appeals process. If you think a moderation decision was a mistake, message the development team.
7. Beta status — read this part
- The platform is provided "as is," in active development. Features, token rules, rankings, and this document can change without advance notice.
- We don't guarantee uptime, data durability, or that the service will be available at any given time. Back up anything you'd be upset to lose, off-platform.
- Drachma balances and ledger history may be adjusted, reset, or wiped during development or in response to abuse.
8. Termination
You can stop using the platform at any time. We can suspend or terminate your account for violating these terms, or at our discretion during the beta period, with or without notice. Sections that by their nature should survive termination (content licensing for prior posts, limitation of liability) do.
9. Disclaimer & limitation of liability
The platform is offered without warranties of any kind, express or implied. To the fullest extent the law allows, Spartacus.cv and its operators aren't liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the platform, including loss of data, content, or Drachma balances.
10. Changes to these terms
We may update these terms as the platform evolves. Material changes will be reflected on this page with an updated date; continued use after a change means you accept the update.
11. Contact
Questions about these terms, account access, or moderation decisions go to the development team through the in-app messaging system.
